Roots and Time: Over 25 Years Fighting for the Invisible

Immerse yourself in a sensory journey through the Garraf Massif with Can Ràfols dels Caus. We explore more than 25 years of history, landscape, and research through five emblematic wines —La Calma, Rocallis, Caus Lubis, Sumoll, and Xarel·lo Pairal— situating them within the historical and human journey of the winery. Its construction began around the year 2000, a sustainable and respectful architectural work delicately embedded in the Garraf rock, integrating winemaking tradition with the natural landscape.

At the heart of the project beats the vision of Carlos Esteva: listening to the land before intervening. His philosophy emphasizes the recovery of native varieties, the exploration of old vineyards and unique parcels, minimal intervention in the winery, and a long-term perspective where time becomes a vital ally. Thanks to this approach, wines like the Xarel·lo Pairal, with its first vintage in 2000, become symbols of depth, memory, and elegance.

The tasting connects the time of the earth —hard and mineral— with the patient time of the wine, capable of evolving over the years, while telling the story of the winery and its surroundings.
