In 2026, Penedès Enoregion proudly celebrates the Year Gaudí and the Year Pau Casals
Penedès joins two great cultural anniversaries and celebrating to Catalan icons and the relationship with our destination.
Modernism in Penedès expresses itself with its own personality, linked to the landscape and the wine-growing splendor of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The territory preserves monumental wineries, historic cooperatives, stately homes and public buildings that tell of a time of prosperity and confidence in the future. Today, this legacy can be discovered through routes, guided tours and cultural experiences to understand how Modernism also left its mark among the vineyards.
At the same time, we commemorate the 150th anniversary of Pau Casals from his seafront home, the Pau Casals Museum, an essential venue to understand the artistic and human legacy of the music master and will be the center of activities and celebrations.

Exhibition "Penedès through Gaudi's eyes"
This exhibiton portrays the most intimate side of Antoni Gaudí and the little-known relationship with Penedès through creativity, nature and wine culture.
An essential exhibition to rediscover Gaudí's genius and his unique perspective on the land, nature and wine culture, promoted by the PINNAE Foundation, and which can be visited at the VINSEUM – Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia and the Berger Balaguer Forum, in Vilafranca del Penedès until June 2026.
Codorníu, historical-artistic monument of national interest
Modernism in the Penedès has an imposing and unique expression. In Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the emblematic building of Codorníu, the work of the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, declared a historical-artistic monument of national interest 50 years ago, is one of the great references of industrial modernism in Catalonia and a symbol of the union between architecture, wine and identity. An exceptional heritage that this 2026 takes on a special role, in the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death.
In addition, to celebrate the company's 475 years of history, a very special visit has been created, where they will not tell you about their cava (well, a little bit), but about the stories and anecdotes of the relevant people who, generation after generation, have made it possible to reach the present day and will make you connect on a personal level with a very important legacy.
