The parish of Vilafranca opens the crypt on Saturdays
The Basilica of Santa Maria allows us to go down to the crypt every Saturday and marvel, among other things, at the modernist architecture of Josep Llimona.
The sculptural ensemble is made of Carrara marble. It is an essential piece of those made by the sculptor, an essentially religious work. It stands at the bottom of the crypt on a limestone base. It is made up of a set of seven figures, conceived as a narrative episode of the moment of Christ's burial.
