Wine tourism in the world’s first 100% organic Designation of Origin
In September 2025, Penedès makes history. The Penedès Designation of Origin (Denominació d'Origen Penedès) becomes the first in the world to offer a 100% organic harvest and production, completing a collective project that reflects deep respect for the land and its people. This milestone crowns a strong commitment to sustainability and quality, placing us at the forefront of organic wine worldwide.
Of the 74 wineries on the Penedès Wine Route, 56 belong to the DO Penedès, and therefore produce 100% organic wines. Visiting these wineries means discovering firsthand that their commitment also extends to welcoming visitors, through tastings, pairings and experiences that showcase how our land has become a leader and global benchmark in organic viticulture..
