Penedès is a destination without crowds, where our natural surroundings and countryside are more appreciated than ever.

The more curious among you will find a long list of remains and cultural landmarks to visit, ranging from the time of the Iberians to twentieth-century Modernisme. You can also let yourself be surprised by the unique routes that criss-cross Penedès and will make you see it in a new light.
What's more, in summer the programme of activities is always packed with a thousand and one things for every taste: open-air concerts and music, picnics and activities in the vineyards, gastronomic experiences at the wineries —such as special tastings and themed culinary evenings—, stargazing and even wine tasting aboard a sailing boat!

Penedès has three defining features: its proximity to the sea, a more rural interior with a sea of vineyards, and the wooded area that gives way to the mountains at the far north of Penedès. This landscape of contrasts lets you go from sea to mountain in a single day, covering very short distances.
So in the morning you can enjoy water activities, seafood cuisine and shallow, family-friendly beaches with fine sand in the Garraf and Baix Penedès areas, ideal if you're travelling with children, and in the afternoon take part in some activity to discover the surrounding area.
To round off a perfect day, you still have time to head inland to visit a winery for a tasting, drop by one of the many cultural and experiential spaces that will entertain young and old alike, or explore charming small villages and welcoming towns that invite you to stroll their streets and step into their shops to take home a souvenir.

Although the earliest white grape varieties start to be picked around mid- to late August, September is the harvest season par excellence in Penedès.
It's the perfect time to be among the vines and the grapes, to smell the freshly pressed most flor (free-run must) inside the wineries and to take part in the many harvest experiences the wineries organise, so you can experience first-hand one of the most beautiful moments in our region.
