What does it involve
Guided tour of the paleontological site of Els Casots (Subirats). The site was discovered in 1989 and declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest (BCIN) in 1995. It was excavated during the 1990s, and after several years of inactivity, annual summer excavation campaigns have been carried out there since 2019.
It is considered one of the most important Miocene sites in Europe, with thousands of fossils discovered, representing over 70 different species, some of which are new to science.
