What does it involve
The archaeobotanical studies carried out at the Turó de la Font de la Canya site confirm the role of this settlement as the cradle of viticulture in the Penedès since the end of the 7th century BC (625-600 BC). The hundreds of carbonized and mineralized stones recovered in the recent archaeological excavations represent the most important and oldest group documented to date in Catalonia.
The site has been open to visitors since 2013 and is complemented by the DO Vinífera Interpretation Centre, where you can take a tour of the history of the vineyard and wine through the materials recovered from the site over more than 20 years.
